Puppysitting Fred :Fanfic

It was a fine day in Washington as a dark medium blonde hair girl was outside her front lawn drawing some anime characters for stories that came to her mind. The girl stretches her arms out. "Katy~!"   Her black kitty ears twitches turning around seeing a girl with short black hair wearing goggles on her head. Wearing her usual blue jacket and white shirt and jeans as she walks over to Katy who has gotten up to greet the other girl as she noticed that she was carrying a box. "Oh! Hi Kryst! What brings you over here? And how did you find me?" Katy asked the last question with weary tone.

"Well I came here to see one of my dear favorite watchers of mine and I need to ask her if she could watch my little pet Freddie for a day while I go work on my comics." Kryst said with a smile. "Oh I see! And you were just happened to stop by. That's very nice Kryst-san." Katy said with a smile but Kryst held the box in front of Katy. "Actually my pet-sitter is right here." Kryst grins. "Oh." Katy was looking around to see who this pet-sitter was till she figured it out.  "ME?!" Katy said pointing to herself in shock. "But I-!"  "Please~ Katy~?" Kryst said giving the cat girl her cutest puppy eyes. "I don't know…..I don't know much about animals except for dogs and cats but that's all." "Perfect for he is kinda a small puppy…don't worry Katy you will be great!" Then Kryst started running when Katy took the box. "Thanks Kat! You're the greatest! I'll pick him up tomorrow! Have fun~!" "HUH!? Kryst-san! Wait a minute!? I didn't even say-"But, Kryst was already long gone.

Katy sighs. "Why do I always fall for the puppy eyes….have I gotten too soft again…?" Katy grabs her things and went into her house as her mother was working on the computer in her office. "Who was that sweetie?" "Just someone I know from DeviantArt….I'll be in my room if you need me."  Katy walks down the hall passing her dad's office and walks into her room as she closes the door then places the box on her desk as she plops down on her favorite desk chair.

Katy sighs again but then heard rustling noises. She looks around her room as then looks at the box as it shook again. 'Oh… It must be the dog….I wonder what kind of dog it is? And why is it so small?' She thought as she lifts open the lid. "Hello?" She whispered as she peers in she see a small figure in the box tied up and gagged in what looks like either ribbon or bandage or maybe tape. His black hair flops to the side as his crystal blue eyes looks up at Katy with the most saddest and frighten eyes she ever seen even his  grey wolf ears flatten against his head. She would of have thought he looked cute if she wasn't scared out of her wits.

"EEEEEEEE~!!!!" Katy shrieks flinging her arms around as she tips back a little too far in her chair causing her to go back with a thud. "OOF!"   Katy lies on her floor while holding the back of her head groaning in pain. "Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!" "Katie? You okay in there?" Katy heard her dad voice from the other side of the wall. "Yeah dad, Just leaned back a little too far in my chair!" Katy said quickly. "I'm fine!"  

After a while what seem like hours to Katy for she calmed down and gets up and picks up her chair as she then looks back at the small boy in the box. He seemed very frighten. "Um…Are you Fred?" Katy asked as the small person nods his head. "And you belong to Kryst-san right?" Again Fred nods his head. Katy's ears flatten against her head as she slowly picks up the wolf boy into her hands. 'Wow…He is really small….and why is he tied up like this?' Katy looks around till she found a box cuter as she pull it out from her pencils holder as she looks down at him as he looks up at her as he saw the box cutter blade being pushed up. Fred began to struggle getting even more frighten. "Please hold still! I am not going to hurt you! I am just cutting you free that all. I promise."

He stopped moving as Katy began to cut the white bandage all the way down to his toes.  She then sets him down as he got out of the bandages then ran and hid behind some of her mangas on her desk.  Katy black ears flatten when he ran. She then leans down close to the books. "Hey… Are you alright?" Fred pokes his head out looking at her still with frightened eye shaking his head. Katy looks around then looks at him when they both heard his stomach rumbling. "You must be hungry….Wait here! I'll get you something to eat." Katy said as she got up and left the room.

Fred walks out looking around the room. All over the walls were anime posters and anime pictures also a fish origami thing hanging down from the end at the bed. Then room wasn't neat but wasn't messy either. The bed wasn't made and there were tons of paper, Books, DVDs, and nit-Knacks around the desk. As his back was turned he didn't hear or see a stealthy figure approaching his way. He suddenly heard a soft thump as he slowly turns around.

There in front of him was a huge tabby cat staring at him with green mischievous slit eyes at him as it licked its lips at him which made him gulped as then it looked like it was ready to pounce. Fred screamed as the cat leapt at him.

Like in slow motion a pair of hands reached out grabbing the cat before tackling onto the frightened small boy. Fred looked up seeing Katy struggling holding onto the cat as the cat hisses and mewed angrily at the girl as the cat swipes it paws onto Katy's cheek causing the girl to yelp but didn't let go till she put the cat out of her room. "DAD! KEEP ARKY AND LOKI OUT MY ROOM!!! EVEN IF THEY CLAW THE DOOR DON'T LET THEM IN. ARKY NEARLY KILLED MY FRIEND'S erm…PET! FOR IT IS SMALL LIKE A CHIHUAHUA!!!" Katy yelled out from out her room as then slipped back into her room closing the door as she let out a sigh then winced when she touched her bleeding scratched cheek.

She plops down on her desk chair again looking over seeing Fred hiding behind the books again. "Are you okay? I am so sorry I should of closed the door when I left for then she wouldn't of gotten in. Are you alright? You're not hurt are you?"

Fred peers out behind the books again for he saw the worried and apologetic in her blue eyes. "No…I'm fine." He said in a soft tone.  He heard a soft sigh of relief as he saw a smile came upon her face and then stares at her bleeding cheek. "Doesn't it hurt?" He asked. Katy stares at him then slightly touched her cheek again she winced. "Yeah but I am used to it…I get scratched all the time." "But you're a cat!? They shouldn't hurt you! You control them right!?" Katy rubs the back of her head. "Well in a way kinda but I really don't control them I just love them, take care of them and sometimes let them do what they want…They are cats. They have their own minds of what they want and stuff…They scratch me not to hurt me to protect themselves or for some other reason." Katy mumbled the last part to herself remembering Arky clawing her arm when she was being all lovey-dovey with her few days ago.

"And why did you call me small like a Chihuahua? I am not a dog! I am a wolf!"

Katy rubs the back of her head after putting a band aid on her cheek. "Sorry I just didn't know how to tell my folks I have a tiny person who is part wolf in my room and was tied up in a box… Not really a normal talk discussing to some people."  Fred thinks about then looks at her. "Yeah I guess so."

Katy then put a bag of Sun chips and bottle of water. "Sorry I couldn't think of what you might like." Katy said with a sigh but Fred was already eating his fourth sun chip. "Nah it's all good! By the way I didn't catch your name."  Katy smiles softly. "My name is Kaitlin but all my friends call me Katy." "The name is Fred!"

After lunch Katy was working on a picture while Fred watched her with interest on top from her mangas he hid from before as he watched her drawing a picture of him. "Hey you ain't too bad!" He said with a smile then frowns looking away. "For a cat girl." He said. Katy looks at him then shakes her head with a smile. "Uh-huh sure." Katy said with a giggle.

"I'm not as good as Kryst-san or any of the other good artistes on DeviantArt. I'm not very good at most things…. Even though some people like my work I just feel it's never good enough or how I wanted it to be…In my head I can see it so perfectly but when I draw it comes out all wrong sometimes….I guess some of things I was told as a child still haunts my mind and keeps me down….Maybe I will never be good enough." Katy looks down sadly with a smile as Fred stares at her.

"You can't give up! Or let what they say bother you! You need to be strong and follow what you believe in and keep working towards your goals!" Fred said with such pride as Katy stares at him this time in shock. "You have a talent in you! I know it! You know I don't like cats at all but some odd reason I like you. You are nice and you don't tie me up like Kryst does most of the time!" Fred cheeks turn pink looking away in a bashful way. "So don't give up in your dreams."  Katy said nothing but a huge smile came on her face. "Thank you Freddie that's very sweet of you." Katy leaned in kissing his head.  
"Fred? Why don't you like cats much?" Fred looks down sadly. "You don't know? I thought by now most people knew if they watch Kryst." He said.  "I kinda know a bit but can you tell me in your own words? If you want to that is. I can understand if you don't want to talk about it." Fred shakes his head looking up at Katy. "You told me something that bothered you a lot so it only seems fair that I tell you…. I lived happily with my dad and mom in the rainforest. My dad was a strong werewolf! And my mom was a kind human. I wanted to learn how to fight just like my dad so much!" Fred said with pride then his ears flatten with sadness.

"But then one day when I was seven I was sudden kidnapped by some lions from the lion tribe….My dad….He…He died saving me." Fred looks down. "Years later, my mom got ill and pasted away telling me about her sister and that she wanted me to be strong and brave just like dad was so I left to find to find my Aunt. One my journey I met my cousins the Wolf brothers! I was really happy that my cousin Carlos was like me. Half human and half werewolf! I was happy I wasn't the only one." He said with a smile as his tail wags Katy smiles at this too then frowns. "I'm sorry about your parents but I am glad to know you still have family to help you. I don't know what I would do without my folks….. But I am also mad at the lion tribe….Okay! Sure Cats and dogs don't go well all the time but still kidnapping! That's a little too far I think. I mean are they trying to make us good cats look bad! Honestly my dad is a good hard working Cat! Though….he can be lazy every now and then….Napping when he gets home from work or on the weekends…" She muttered with a sweat drop at the thought of her dad snoring on the big leather recliner chair. Fred looks at her then smiles somewhere deep down she did had point that not all cats were bad and she was there in front of him to prove it.

She looks at her hello kitty alarm clock seeing it was all most dinner time now. "Wow time sure fly by fast." Katy said when she then heard her mom calling. "I'll bring some food after dinner I promise." Katy said as she left Fred alone again in the room.

About an hour and half went by and Fred was looking at some of Katy's artwork. Katy came back with a napkin with some food. "You are in luck tonight my dad cooked Steak! So here is some cut up steak and bread and beans." Katy said as unfold the napkin showing Fred his dinner as he drools over the meat.  Without hesitation he dove into the piece of meat. "This is good!" He said with glee. Katy giggled as she grabbed a manga and went to her bed to read. "After dinner I want to show you something." Katy said with a smile. "Sure!" Fred said not really paying any attention.

After he was full patting his stuffed belly then let out a belch. "Excuse me." He said with a grin as Katy got up giggling. "That's alright. Here you can ride my shoulders the place I want to show is just a few minute walk from here." She said as Fred was on her hand as she brought him up to her shoulder. He grabbed onto some of her hair to hold on. "I'm not pulling to tight am I?" "No you're fine. "

Katy walks out of her room as Fred saw three corgis either laying down or sleeping. "I didn't know you have dogs." "Yeah…They are a part of my family just like the cats." Katy leaned into her Mom's office seeing her mom on her laptop and bunch of fragile things around the room. "Mom! I'm going to take Fred for a walk. I'll be home before dark!" With that Katy opened the front door jogging out before her mom could see or say anything. When she was far enough from the house and up on the hill road. Fred looks around seeing houses, with big lawns, some with barns for horses, and few patches of forest a bit away.

When they came to the end of the road that lead out into the street,  Katy looks both ways a few times to see if any cars were coming. When the coast was clear Katy quickly runs over to the other side of the street which was just a small gravel path and few unfinished houses development.

Katy walks till she came to a field filled with tall like yellow flowers on the other side of the wire fence. "Hang on tight." Katy said walking to fence then climbed over it.
When she was over the fence she walked through the tall flower bushes still she came to a stop in the middle of the grass as then faced so her back was against the sun. Fred looks at her then to what she was looking at, there he saw a mountain still covered in its snowy white blanket. "That's mount Rainer.  Mom and I love the view of it so much though we live on the bottom of the hill we barely see it through the trees. We can see it in our neighborhood but I like this spot where it's only the flowers and the trees with the mountain….Though there are still houses and roads to see in this view but its close enough for me." Katy sighs softly then turn her head to her left were more Housing development was being worked on.

"But sooner or later this field will be gone and only houses with fences will be here soon. And sooner or later Washington might never be so evergreen anymore if people still cut down so many trees for things that might never ever be finished… But I know one thing they can't take down." Katy said with a smile as Fred tilts his head. "What's that?" He asked. "The mountains….They can't cut or move mountains no matter what. They will always stand tall and proud around the world and people will still admire them from afar."

Fred smiles at this nodding his head. "You sure like the earth don't you." "Yeah…And I wish people will start treating it better! Most people need to stop to take a break and just breathe in fresh mountain air and take a minute to looks at such a beautiful world we have. "

Fred nodded his head again as they just sat and stare at the mountain as the sun was setting. Katy closed her eyes then took in a deep breath as she started to hum a song then opened her mouth as she began to sing as Fred listened.

Fred stares at her then looks back as the sun faintly showed two large wings from her back as she sang then when Katy was humming the last part of the song till the end the soft see threw wings vanished like magic as Fred stared in awe. She opened her eyes seeing the sky getting a little dark. "Best we head back." She said as she got up look at Fred. "That's a very beautiful song where did you learn that from?" Fred asked but wanted to know if what he saw was real.

"From an anime called Kino's Journey or in Japanese it is known as Kino no Tabi. It is one of my favorite songs." She answered as she walks back to the fence to climb over it again.  

When they came back Katy headed straight to her room very tired.  She set Fred on her desk as she goes through her things. "Ugh! I wish I kept some of my dolls things!" Katy groans then found a rectangle box with blue silk pads that was for her crystal 3-D dragon her friend's mother got her for her birthday. "Will this do?" She asked as set it down and Fred hops in rolling around. "WOW!" He looks back up at Katy. "It's perfected! And it's nice and soft and comfy too!"  Katy smiles as then went to her drawers pulling out her cleanest and softest sock.

"And you can use this as your sleeping bag don't worry it's clean."  She said handing her sock to Fred as he puts it in the box. "I'm going to change so don't peek got it?" Katy said looking at Fred. Fred quickly turns around and covering his eyes. "Understood!"

She looks back at him to make sure as she started to change. "So? Did you um…enjoy your day here?" Fred ears perked up turn around with his eyes open till he only saw her back with two long scars right between the shoulder blades almost where the wings would be. Then quickly turns around blushing a bit. "Uh…Yeah….I really had fun…kinda peaceful…." "That's good to know for I hope I wasn't much a bore…I rarely have boys over here….you can turn around now." She said in a long red night shirt.  

Fred turns around still slightly blushing. "Where did you get those scars on your back?" Fred asked before covering his mouth. "I was born with them…Wait how did you….." Katy glares at Fred. "If you were taller I would bonk you right now!" She said then sighs. "It's where my wings are." Katy said.

"Wings?" Fred looks at the cat girl as she took him and his bed over to her nightstand close to her bed. "Yep….My mom is a fallen angel….…I take after my Dad's looks than my moms.  This is why I am a cat...Most days I have my wings out others day I just keep them in. They do come out." Katy closed her eyes as two medium wings came out of her back with a few loose feathers on the right wing was black and the left was white.

Fred was amazed by this. "Why is one wing is black and the other is white?" "Because I am not all pure…. That why I have one black wing which is for I am part demon or the sadness, the darkness, and pain in my heart and the white wing is part angel I guess it mean the happiness, the light, and honesty of my spirit. I am kinda balanced this way. For I am not good nor I am not bad either… I am whole but I am not whole. Do you get it?"  

Fred scratches his head looking confused and puzzled. "I think so…." He said then he looks up at her. "But I will say this they look very beautiful on you." Katy's cheeks turn pink. "Thank you…" She said as her wings went back in. "But they aren't fully grown yet…But one day they will."

She then turns off the light on the nightstand as she got all cozy in bed. "Goodnight Fred." "Goodnight Katy. Sweet dreams." "Mm-hmm you -yawn- too."  With that it was a peaceful night for them both.

Next morning Fred woke up seeing Katy not anywhere. He looks around till he heard the door opening and came in Katy with her wings out but much smaller than before. "Oh you're up! Good morning." Katy said smiling at Fred as he jumps off the nightstand onto the bed. "I brought some toast and dried cereal with some milk too. " Katy helped Fred over to the desk as he ate his breakfast. "Aren't you going to join?" He asked noticing she was just drinking warm tea and a piece of bread. "No…I'm good…I'm not really much a breakfast eater."

She looks down with sad eyes. "What's wrong?" "Oh…it's nothing." Katy said putting on a fake smile but Fred gave her a look like he didn't believe it. "Kryst-san will be here to pick you up…And who knows when I might see you again. And I am sure you got a lot of other fans." Katy mumbles the last part under her breath. Fred stares at her. "I'll miss you too Katy. You are not a bad Cat" He said with a grin.

For the rest of their time they chatted whatever came into their mind.

"HI~!!" Kryst said with a grin. "I came to pick up Freddie!"  Katy came out with Fred on her shoulder again. "Hi Kryst. " Katy waved then looks at Fred holding her hand below her shoulder and his feet as he jumped off. As she hands him back to Kryst hands. "Thank you for watching Fred. I hope you two had fun." "Yes we did. We had a fine time in each other company."

Katy looks at Kryst with a serious look. "Kryst-san I am a big fan of your work but please next time don't overdo it by slightly tying and scaring Fred. You even nearly gave me a heart attack when I saw him tied up. Though I will admit he did look cute being tied up but that doesn't matter right now….Ahem….Bye Fred I hope to see you again soon and maybe when you are taller next time."  Fred looks at Katy with a fang grin smile. "Yeah! " Kryst looks at Katy with a grin. "What?" "Oh nothing…Well I better get going! Don't want to keep Travis and Carlos waiting. Bye Katy! Thanks again for taking care of Freddie! I definitely know who to ask if I need another puppy sitter again! Maybe next time you can watch Travis and Carlos too! Buh-Bye!"

With that Katy walks outside with Kryst and Fred as she watches them go as she waved goodbye. "Hope to see you soon! Bye!" Katy smile then shakes her head.  "I swear I am getting to soft for cute boys with animal ears." She said then stopped seeing her twin/manself version of her Brother looking down at her wearing a pink frilly maid outfit. "Katy!!!!! I got a few bones to pick with you!" Katy just giggles nervously. "Okay maybe not that soft for cute boys. Wow Kaiven. Pink really go well with your platinum blond hair….ehehehe. Oh look at the time. Must go do….more work…..Bye!" With a quick speed Katy sprinted down the road with Kaiven right behind her. "KATY~!! YOU GET BACK HERE!!!! "
